Methodology
The Match Score, explained
Every GLP-1 provider on MatchScript carries a Match Score out of 100 — a weighted blend of six factors. We give each provider an honest 0–100 sub-score on all six, using the same rubric for partners and non-partners alike. The score you see on a card is the default, all-around weighting. The quiz keeps those sub-scores fixed and simply changes the weights to match your priorities.
The six factors
Percentages are the default (“all-around”) weight for each factor — what you get if you don't take the quiz.
1. Budget Fit
18%The all-in monthly cost relative to what you get — and whether it's honest (no teaser first-month rate that silently jumps, no hidden membership or consult fees). Lower, flatter, more predictable pricing scores higher.
2. Speed to Start
16%How fast you can realistically get a prescriber and a first dose, which is closely tied to nationwide reach. Providers confirmed in all 50 states start people almost anywhere, fast.
3. Formulary Match
16%Breadth of options: both semaglutide and tirzepatide, brand-name (FDA-approved) availability, and oral/sublingual routes for the needle-averse. More ways to match your body and preferences scores higher.
4. Support Level
16%Quality of ongoing care — titration and side-effect guidance, coaching or labs where offered, and responsiveness — versus support that disappears once the first vial ships.
5. Flexibility
17%How easily you can pause, switch, or cancel — and whether the provider locks you into contracts, forced auto-ships, or a deliberately painful exit.
6. Transparency
17%How openly the provider publishes prices, states served, and how the medication is sourced. Clear public disclosure scores higher; opacity scores lower.
How the quiz reweights
The quiz never edits a provider's sub-scores. It only adjusts how much each factor counts, then re-sorts the roster. Here's the honest chain:
- 1.We start from the default weights above (18 · 16 · 16 · 16 · 17 · 17).
- 2.Each answer adds points to the factors it implies. Say “lowest price wins” and Budget Fit gains weight; say “I need to start this week” and Speed to Start gains weight.
- 3.We compute each provider's weighted average of the same six sub-scores under your personalized weights, normalized to a 0–100 match.
- 4.We sort by that number and show your ranking — plus the exact weight mix we used, so you can audit it.
Because it's honest weighting rather than a rigged result, the quiz genuinely produces different winners for different people: a pure price-shopper may be matched to the cheapest program, while someone who wants an oral option or brand-name access is steered to the provider that actually offers it. Our default #1 tends to win the balanced, all-around profile — because it earns it on the factors, not because we put a thumb on the scale.
How we stay honest
- Same sub-scores for everyone. Partner and non-partner providers are scored on identical factors. Affiliate status is labeled inline and never adds a point.
- No rigged results. The quiz reweights, it doesn't rewrite. If a provider isn't the best match for what you told us, it won't come out on top.
- Facts are sourced, sub-scores are judgment. Pricing, states served, and verification reflect each provider's public disclosures at last review; the factor scores are ours.
- We re-check. Telehealth pricing changes constantly — entries are dated and re-verified, and you should confirm current pricing on the provider's own site before deciding.
